A 1974 graduate of Auburn University, Jim
Seay has been a principal in the firm of Seay, Seay & Litchfield,
Architects/Interior Designers, Montgomery, Al., for 22 years.
He has served the Montgomery Chapter AIA as treasurer, secretary,
vice president and president. He has represented the Alabama
Council of AIA and the State of Alabama Board for Registration
of Architects as the Intern Development Program State Coordinator
for the past 14 years. Among the projects he has promoted during
his tenure in this capacity are the Thesis
Mentor Program, The Alabama IDP web
site, "Job Link" an internet-based matching service
to help pre-graduate interns and needy firms find each other,
and interaction of faculty, practitioners and interns through
continuing education opportunities. His duties have also included
annual attendance at the NCARB/AIA IDP State Coordinator Conference
held in Washington, D.C.. and presentation of internship training
and registration requirements to the architectural students
In addition to serving as IDP Coordinator,
Seay is a member of the Alabama Council AIA Legislative Committee
currently addressing needed improvements to state registration
law, and legislation being proposed by other design disciplines.
